What is the kingdom of God? We are told (Matthew 6:33) to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. That means to seek/pray for the rule of Jesus Christ for your heart and mind and the character of Jesus for your life. We are responsible for our thoughts and we are to keep our minds fixed (Colossians 3:2) on things above. We will receive wrong thoughts in attacks from Satan’s ‘birds’, but we don’t have to grasp them and let them take root. If we do, our mind becomes Satan’s playground. We have (1 Corinthians 2:16) the mind of Christ. We can’t stop the birds from flying over our heads, but we can prevent them from building a nest in our hair. We can’t prevent Satan’s flying birds/demons from trying to turn us in the wrong direction, but we can prevent them from making a home in our thoughts and minds. Think on (Galatians 5:22-25) these things, the lovely commendable things. Jesus said (Luke 17:21) the Kingdom of God is within you. That will be true in me only if King Jesus is enthroned in me as the absolute reigning king of my life. How will that obnoxious person know that God loves him if I don’t show him? The Holy Spirit radiates the love of God (Romans 5:5) and is shed abroad in and from the heart of a devoted disciple. If that is my life, then in my life GOD REIGNS!
God brings the wind out of His treasures. Did you know that when the wind whips the tree branches into a dance, the trees whisper secrets? Secrets about (Nahum 1:3) God’s control of every phase of weather - - storms, whirlwinds, hurricanes, clouds are all created as well as their timing and length by what the Lord determines. God can use the weather for judgement or for blessing.
The Lord fertilizes the ground with snow. He freezes the lakes and prepares fish for the ice fishermen. He brings His sunshine and His rain, and the land produces vegetables, fruits and grains in abundant crops for harvest. We would not have food if God had not created the weather, which He controls. His law of sowing and reaping is always true both in the physical and spiritual realm. God is in control of the climate and every detail in our world and in our lives. If you listen to the trees, you will hear them whisper the secrets of the changing seasons, the mystery of moonlight and the music of the stars. God is the Sovereign Controller of both the stupendous, intricate workings of the universe and the tiniest detail of my life.
As fellow-Christians we are related to one another because we are all in and belong to the family of God. This includes every born-again believer everywhere. We are to love (1 Corinthians chapter 12) in unity with diversity, not conformity. The Lord places the various parts of the body as He chooses and endues them with the gifts to function independently and yet to contribute to the health of the whole body. Every part is essential for the wellness and safety of the body. If my ear hears the blast of a horn, I will know that danger is approaching my body. As in the human body, so in the Church, the Body of Jesus Christ. Do not compare – eye – ear, hand – foot. Comparing leads to envy or pride and both are a poisoning toxic disease in the Body of Christ. We must trust and obey the Master and always be in close contact with Him. Then we ourselves (1 John 4:17) will be, as He is, in this world.
Hundreds of years ago, Jesus, the King of all nations, sent the good news of the Gospel of God’s saving Grace to my ancestors, the MacDonald Clan in northern Scotland. Some of them God chose to be pastors, some He sent among the first missionaries to Korea to make the Gospel known in Korea and some of them He brought to Canada. Like me, many descendants through the centuries, have trusted and received Jesus as their own personal Saviour. We have put our faith in Him, Who, is the (John 14:6) only Saviour through His precious priceless shed Blood and Atoning death. Through the Lord Jesus Christ we have forgiveness of sin, eternal life and citizenship in heaven. I pray that their offspring in every generation, those born into this world, will come into a personal relationship with God through Jesus – the only Way, the only Truth and the only Life. Apart from Jesus there is no hope of being in right standing with God and acceptable to Him to be in the Kingdom of God. I pray that every descendant of the MacDonald Clan will join the family circle in the Father’s house.
It is wonderful to see in Scriptures and in our own lives the amazing way God works in every detail. Through all the years and centuries He is weaving together every detail to achieve the end result (Isaiah 46:10) which he declared at the beginning.
