In the beginning when God said, "Let there be ...," there was! His Word alone and the world with all its wonders, beauty and provision came into being.
BUT ... when ... it came to man, God did not just speak!
This was too precious, too personal. He tenderly formed him with His own loving hands.
Planned in love, shaped in beauty, destined for glory.
When He said, "Let Us make man in Our image,"
I wonder -- I wonder -- I wonder -- did He also say,
"Let's make his fingers dexterous even though one day they'll weave a crown of thorns.
Let's give him man amazing thumb even though one day he'll grasp nails.
Let's make his arm strong even though one day it will pound a hammer.
Let's give him a marvellous knee-joint so that, finally, some knees will bend before the Cross." ???
I don't know if the Triune God said anything along that line but I'm sure such things were in His mind.
I do know that by making room in His heart for me, God made room in His heart for pain.
Behold what manner of love that we can now be irreproachable in the Father's Presence. Through the salvation of Jesus Christ, our Saviour, we are made perfectly fit for God. WOW!
