Limitless

So quickly the years whirl past, building the decades which can haunt us with regret, remind us of pain, fill us with gratitude.  Another year has gone and a new one has begun.  Can it really be a full year since we last said that?
What can I garner from the old year to take with me into the new year; something that will not die when this year's Time disappears into eternity?  Years ago while striving to grasp a little of the  "above and beyond," I asked the Lord, "What is Time?"  He told me that Time is a jewel of eternity, carved out of eternity and flowing into eternity.
Then I began to ponder the everlasting things which God planned in eternity and revealed during Time.
Now I pause to consider the purpose of the painful things, the confusing things which have happened and are still happening in my Time ... and the silence of eternity shines its radiance into my heart.
Here is something I read in a very old book:
"God nothing does, nor suffers to be done
    But thou would'st do thyself
    Could'st thou but see
The end of all events as well as He."

I will gladly take that into this year.  What a glorious encouragement for determined faith.
As I press on to make progress in the school of prayer, I embrace the wisdom of these words:
   "In very love refuse
    Whate'er Thou seest
    Our weakness would abuse."

Dr.A.W.Tozer said something which penetrates my heart and strengthens my faith:  "If my will is to do God's will, then there will be no controversy with anything that comes in the course of my daily walk."
All my desires have come together in one longing for such inner purity, for such a meeting of the conditions of the Saviour's limitless promise, "WHATEVER YOU ASK," ... that I can have anything I ask for when I pray. This may just be the best year ever for you and for me in our Time.
  With love & prayers,
