Grief

THE PATH OF GRIEF

At this time of parting from your dear loved one, there is such a fierce tangle of emotions. Joy because of the assurance that she is forever with the Lord, Relief because she will suffer no more, Anticipation because you know you will see her again ... and still ... Sadness because there is always pain in parting.  As you walk the path of grief, may it comfort you to remember that she is in everlasting remembrance and her memory is a continual blessing.  Her goodness and kindness will go on and endure forever.  Her righteousness will never end and she will be exalted in honour. (Psalm 112:6,9, Proverbs 10:7, 2 Corinthians 9:9).

As you go through faded pictures, broken bits of jewelry, the remnants of a hobby, various items which were treasures to your dear one, and your heart is stabbed with unbearable pain, remember that your precious Mother's life did not consist of these things.  She was and still is the King's daughter.  Long before Adam was created, God had planned the colour of her eyes.  She has served God's will and purpose and counsel in her generation (Acts 13:36) and has been promoted from Planet Earth because a prepared and joyous project requires her presence in Heaven.

We know that your departed loved one, who was trusting the Saviour, is in a wonderful place because Jesus wept when He had to recall Lazarus.

The Sovereign Creator God with the Father-heart will never leave you.  Trust the Lord to make you a God-kept wonder and enable you to glorify Him in the fires of heartache and difficulty.

Rejoice because of our glad assurance which circumstances can never affect.  Even though you would never want to recall her to this world of suffering, there will be times when you will miss her dreadfully, especially when there is something you long to share with her.  At those times ... "in the little while between" look up and listen for the trumpet because Jesus is coming soon!
