GIFT Did you know that you are a remarkable treasure?
Do you take time to meditate on this wonderful fact?
FACT You were personally chosen, particularly selected by the Father as a gift to His beloved Son.
(All whom My Father has given Me; All that He has given Me. John 6:37-39).
Consider a Sovereign Lord Whose wealth and power are so magnificent that nothing can be withheld from His desire. He owns the volcanos and the butterflies. He owns the lightning and the rainbows. He owns the stars and the green pastures. What kind of a gift would this King choose for His one and only, precious Son? It would have to have unique beauty and unfading loveliness, it would have to bring lasting joy and unending delight, it would have to have increasing value. Where would the Father find such a gift, a gift supremely suitable for the Son of His love? He found it in you! Are you sometimes disturbed, hurt, perplexed about what is going on in your life? The sharp needle, the painful chisel, the heavy plow will result in exquisite embroidery, breathtaking sculpture, fruitful harvest. The circumstances of your life are the skillful, loving fingers of the Father putting the final touches to the special gift you are for the Lord Jesus. You are the dear child of Abba's heart, chosen as His befitting, eternal gift to the Saviour. Dwell on that truth and exult in the enfolding of Divine love.
Chosen by the Father, purchased by the Son,
Sealed by the Spirit, you're His very own!
And ... there's more! We know that all creation groans and waits. Waits for what? Waits expectantly for us, for that day when we will be revealed as the true children of God by the indescribable glory which will be conferred upon us.
All creation waits for us, for us, because we are linked to the restoration of earth to its Eden loveliness, when nature will be set free from its bondage to decay and corruption and will gain an entrance into the glorious freedom of God's children. The Sovereign Lord has involved us in every part of His grand redemption for the universe.
I must remember to view my present in the light of my future -- a future beyond my highest dreams and deepest longings (Romans 8:18-23)
P.S. This is what the Lord spoke to my aching heart at a time of very upsetting uncertainty and sadness.
With love & prayers,
