I need to explore and pursue all that being ‘chosen’ by the Almighty Sovereign means.
(Titus 1:1-2) I long to enter more deeply into the wonder of being chosen by God. Chosen to be created in His image. Chosen to be crucified, buried, risen with Christ for the restoration of the Divine image.
I need to keep choosing the One Who chose me as I seek deepening intimacy with Him. I need to explore and pursue all that being chosen by the Almighty Sovereign means.
Before time began, before the world and mankind were created, God promised eternal Life.
Promised to whom?
Apart from angelic beings, only God was there.
Promised when?
Was it at the fall of Satan (Isaiah 14:12-14, Ezekiel 28:13-16), that beautiful one who went from being Heaven's worship leader to becoming the vile and vicious enemy of God and of all that God held dear?
Ponder with me, what was it like in Heaven when Satan fell and one-third of the angels chose to join him?
What happened to the music?
Picture the shock and horror and fear of the holy angels. Try to imagine the blackness, the deception the sinister rebellion which engulfed the fallen angels and transformed them into demons. What a vivid and terrifying picture of the awesome power and responsibility of our free-will choices.
Was the Lord shocked when the anointed cherub eternally debased himself by his own choice and caused devastation among the holy watchers?
No, the Omniscient God already knew but His heartache began at the perversion of His wonderful gifts, which perversion continues and will continue until Righteousness reigns.
Wonderful truth for us ... the promise was made before the need existed! Genesis 3:15 was the first time we heard about it but long before that, the promise had been established. When the Lord created mankind, in beauty and in joy, with His own loving hands, the pain of Calvary was already in His heart.
We cannot fully comprehend why God gave the tremendous gift of choice to angels once and to human beings throughout our lifetime. But when the veil is lifted we will be prostrate before the wisdom of God, which even now He demonstrates to men, angels and demons through His Church (Ephesians 3:10). And all this in preparation for the reign of His highest creation ... US!
Because He is never unprepared, never caught off guard, never taken unaware, we are secure.
Chosen! Chosen to choose!
Chosen! Oh, glory!
With love & prayers,
