We know that God never wastes a fish, a loaf, a sickness, a tragedy, a saint or a heartache.
Jesus said to gather up the fragments and broken pieces so that nothing would be wasted (John 6:12).
Why? He could have zapped up another meal at any time. Because our Saviour revealed this wonderful truth to us, we know that God never wastes a fish or a loaf or a sickness or a tragedy or a saint or a heartache.
Jesus offered Himself to God through the eternal Spirit and God took Him at His word.
God accepted His body and just think of how cruelly He used it! But pause to consider the glorious, everlasting results.
You have presented yourself to God and He has taken you at your word. He is making you broken bread and poured-out wine to nourish others. When it seems like you are completely closed in and cut off, your obedience and prayers can do more to affect the world than the busiest activities of up-front Christians.
Your difficulties and your pain may make you feel that your life is all fragments and broken pieces. There will be a time when you will hear the reassuring words of the Lord Jesus, "Gather up the fragments and broken pieces because none of this has been wasted.
But now, gather up the broken pieces and make them whole."
In all the circumstances, trials and puzzles of your life, let your inspiration for rejoicing and your reason for sadness, be the expression of true Wisdom within you. Then others, who now dance to the wrong piper and weep for the wrong lament, will observe the richness of your life and recognize indeed that Jesus Christ is made unto you Wisdom.
With love and prayers,
